Dec 27th, 2010 Broadcast: Almonds, Cohen (kind of)
This photo is Brock from Almonds, Cohen that I recorded (?) in Vancouver, BC. It was taken whilst in Canada in the Summer of 2009 when iji and Watercolor Paintings played in Canada. I hadn’t seen him since Fontee Fest earlier that year when his other band Colourbook (Aaron of Dreamboat also is a member) played. Last February (almost a year ago) Brock played on Late Nights for the Longing over a pay-phone from Toronto, Canada, from where he now resides after moving from Victoria. His songs are colorful (or colourful) in orchestration whether it’s a full band, him solo, or playing with only one other person.
Brock will be playing an in-studio and guest Selecting (DJ-ing) on Late Nights for the Longing. It’s going to be magic. We are all friends.
This could possibly be the best thing you could do between the end of Christmas to the beginning of the new year.
Brock is also looking for individuals to play with him: impromptu improvisation. Here’s the request from the email he sent me:
“also: do you know any flute players, string players, accordion players, who’d want to come and play with me? improvising just whatever? anything at all! you should play too! the more the merrier. I can’t bring anybody with me, there’ll all tied up with familial things.

All Hollow Earth Radio in-studios are free. This show starts at 9pm with intermittent goofing around. Maybe a Jam.
